About Me
When I was in elementary school and middle school, all I listened to in my walkman was Stevie Wonder. His music was the seed that grew into this overwhelming love I have for music. I think people who create music are mirrors of the creator. The collection of notes and rhythms is what I image the voice of God to sound like. It is no coincidence that the world was created by sound. I'm changing and growing with each passing second. I made this blog because wanted to find a medium for me to share, discuss, disagree, vibe out, to the music that I have made the soundtrack to my life. Yup....

GO GIRL
I don't really see women on the scene with a message. Once again, my friend posted a video of this young lady on his blog: http://justastudentoflife.blogspot.com/2009/12/d-b-me-with-headphones.html. She has a message of love. I wanted to see what was in her head - so I found a pretty good interview. Check it out:

STOLEN GOODS
I just saw this video on my friend's blog, http://justastudentoflife.blogspot.com, and I had to share it on my blog as well...stuff is really real.
SNOWED IN
I love love love the snow, of course when I'm inside a warm home. All day I have been searching through my music files and rediscovering some gems. I love this tune, Samba de una nota, and it always sounds good by any musician in any arrangement. If you listen you can hear that there is one note that the musician is playing and building the chords around. Here is a guitarist that is killing it - so gentle.
Laurindo Almeida (guitar)
Milt Jackson (vibes)
John Lewis (piano)
Percy Heath (bass)
Kenny Clarke (drums)

AN UNCONVENTIONAL LOVE SONG
I remember blasting this song in my car, driving from the city of Bmore to my evening class at UMBC. It is rare to hear a love song with a cranking beat that is actually endearing. But check out the part where the guy is talking "i'm saying baby...i call you every damn day... and you give me the same excuse..." - kinda the downsouth rap take on BoyIIMen - love it!
